Meet Our Health Care Providers
James M. Halverson, D.O., FAAFP
Dr. Halverson graduated with honors from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992 (Kirksville was the first osteopathic medical school in the country). He completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center. In addition to general medicine, he has extensive training and experience in hospital and emergency medicine.
Before attending medical school, he coached basketball and taught high school chemistry and physics for four years. He also has a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in education; both are from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Halverson is dedicated to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the prevention of disease. He believes that educating patients about their conditions and helping them learn how to manage their medical problems are important aspects of care. Dr. Halverson is a diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Jerome Provenzano, M.D.
Dr. Jerome Provenzano graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed his residency in Family Medicine at VCU/Riverside Regional Medical Center in 1993. Dr. Provenzano and has been practicing medicine for over 34 years.
Before he joined our practice, Dr. Provenzano was with T.P.M.G. Hidenwood. Dr. Provenzano is a Medical Examiner and also serves as head of a local hospice company.
Dr. Provenzano is highly knowledgeable and is most proud of his reputation for allocating adequate one on one time with his patients to ensure they feel heard. Dr. Provenzano has been serving the community he lives in for three decades. He is accepting New Patients.
Stephanie Cox, FNP-C.
Nurse Practitioner Stephanie Cox graduated with honors from Riverside School of Health Careers. She then went on to receive her Masters in Nursing in 2020 from Walden University with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Before joining JRFP, N.P. Cox specialized in Colorectal Medicine and was an Intensive Care Unit Nurse for over 10 years.
N.P. Stephanie Cox has brought a fresh perspective to the practice and is often recognized by patients and staff for her caring bedside manner and thoughtfulness. Her philosophy on prioritizing preventative measures promotes healthy behaviors for overall well being. She is accepting New Patients.
